Pesticides are widely used in agriculture to protect plants from a variety of pests and increase productivity. However, the public has consistent concern regarding threats to human health by the use of pesticides. Regulation requirements have been in effect to ensure pesticide residues are tested before putting the commodities on shelf. Among the routinely used testing methods, LC-MSMS has become the method of choice because of its sensitivity, reliability, and accuracy.
In present study, a simple QuEChERS sample preparation was utilized on a few brands of non-organic berries to identify and quantify 210 pesticides using a laminar flow LC-ESI-MS/MS instrument. This method enables fast and reliable extraction of pesticide residues from different berry matrices, accurate and reliable determination of those pesticides within 25 minutes of
LC run.
